E-Mail		Morep Food Process Systems Limited was formed in 1988 to consolidate the engineering activities of the Parent Company, Morep Limited, and to promote the international marketing of the food machinery and technology which the Company had built up during the previous 30 years. Morep FPS purchased, together with John Davies, the marketing and manufacturing rights to the Quick Thaw Unit from the receivers of the KlingJ organisation of Copenhagen. They also took over the patent rights applicable to the Quick Thaw Unit. The Head Office for all administration and accounts is based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. Our Product Manager, Mr John Davies, is based in Copenhagen and oversees all the sales and production of the Quick Thaw Unit through agents worldwide. There are now approximately 150 units sold into countries as diverse as Japan, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, United States, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Holland, France, Germany, Austria, Serbia and the UK. The areas of potential competition are microwaves and radiowaves. As food safety requirements increase throughout the world and the control on food production is very much in the hands of the main supermarket chains throughout the world it is unacceptable for manufacturers to leave product in a chiller and take it out without any knowledge of whether ice crystals are still present in the thawed/tempered blocks and in the end, manufacturers can only rely on bringing temperatures down to 0oC when using the Quick Thaw Unit. Microwaves are expensive and can only realistically temper down to -4oC before the product starts to cook or absorb \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"hot spots\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\". Radiowave thawing is expensive and not a major competition to Quick Thaw. The Quick Thaw Unit also has the advantage of being able to be placed outside or inside a factory and, if space is at a premium, this is a very good selling point. Finally, the running costs and maintenance costs of the Quick Thaw have been proved over 10 years to be extremely competitive.
